As you are all aware, the November 30th deadline for the establishment of a provincial framework is fast approaching. The PDT discussions occurred November 17-20, resumed yesterday and are continuing as you read this note. The scope of topics being discussed is quite broad and requires thorough examination. Part of this examination involves the application of proposed language in districts across the province, each with its own unique Collective Agreement. This process takes time. The Provincial Executive is aware of both the deadline and the issues before it as it works through this unique process. As soon as updates can be communicated to members, they will be sent. Should updates be received at the District 16 office Friday, we will ensure that communications are sent to all PD Day work sites and that they are accessible to all members. While we understand that this is an anxious time, your continued support in this matter is appreciated. Stephen Bloom Chief Negotiator, District 16 |
