REVISED: NEW DEADLINE FOR APPLICATION IS FEB 12, 2009 BY 4PM An incumbent whose four-year term is ending may re-apply for a position of responsibility. Definitions, Qualifications and Responsibilities of Department Heads can be found in the Secondary School Collective Agreement, Section D.2.0. Please note that applicants for Subject Head and Assistant Subject Head shall hold Specialist Qualifications or Honour Specialist Qualifications in at least one of the subjects designated within the organizational unit to which the teacher is appointed (Collective Agreement, Section D.2.1.2 & D.2.1.3). The Collective Agreement, Section D.2.5.7 states: "If an incumbent Department Head or Assistant Head within a school re-applies for a position of responsibility at the end of his/her term, the incumbent shall be given preference over any other candidate of equal qualification and ability for the position previously held by him or by her. This clause does not apply to teachers holding an Interim Position of Responsibility." Applicants are asked to submit a letter of intent expressing an interest in the position to the School Principal, either by fax or email no later than 4:00 pm on Thursday, February 12, 2009.
