This years theme is DIS(OBEDIENCE): STAND BY/STAND UP. OSSTF/FEESO invites secondary student writers and artists to submit creative work exploring 2013’s Student Achievement Awards theme: DIS(OBEDIENCE): STAND BY/STAND UP.
Identify a local or global problem about which there is a lot of discussion and then produce an original piece of work using writing, visual art, or technology that expresses how you can become the solution. Entry Procedures Students—submit an entry, as well as the appropriate entry form, to your sponsoring teachers in one of the divisions and categories listed. Sponsoring teachers—select one entry per category and submit it to your school Excellence In Education Representative or Branch President. Excellence In Education Representative or Branch President from each school —select one entry per category to submit to the District 16 office no later than November 23, 2012. District 16 Excellence in Educations Committee will select a local District winner in each category and forward the winning entries to the OSSTF/FEESO Provincial Office no later than December 7, 2012.
Once submitted to the Provincial Office, District winners will be judged at a regional level and then Provincial level.
Each of the eight provincial winners will receive a cash award of $1000 and will be brought to Toronto in March 2013 to be honoured at the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation annual general meeting (AMPA).
