District 16 GSMA to March in Pride Parade

Our march permit is D02 and we are to meet at Bloor and Ted Rogers Way at 1:15 PM.

The District 16 OSSTF Gay-Straight Members Alliance is marching in the Toronto Pride Parade in July 3, 2011.

Our march permit is D02 and we are to meet at Bloor and Ted Rogers Way (formerly Jarvis) at 1:15 PM.

If you would like to march with us, please contact Wayne at 416-324-3277 or 905-836-5954 or wayne.milliner@osstfd16.on.ca (Cell 416-358-1971) OR meet us at Bloor and Jarvis at 1:15 PM.

Just a reminder that we are D01 (vehicle) and D02 (marching group)  Rebecca is lining up her vehicle on Rosedale Valley Road at 10:45 am and the marcher will meet at Jarvis and Bloor at 1:15

Basically we will meet at Jarvis and Bloor (south east corner (outside the Rogers plus store) and shortly after that we will proceed to our place in line.  If we are not at Jarvis and Bloor when you arrive.  You can find us by asking Pride Parade Staff where D02 is lining up or walk along Bloor (near church) and look for the screaming safety orange T-shirts.  If you do not have an orange T-shirt from past year you are welcome to wear whatever you wish.  Match or contrast its all good.    It is supposed to be a hot one.  We will have water and things to hand out in Rebecca’s vehicle but we will not join up with it until as start to march.  For safety reasons, only the vehicles are allowed to line up on Rosedale Valley Drive.  Bring a hat, some sun screen and get ready for a fun day.

Following the Parade Colleen and I would like you all to join us for a relaxing beverage anyplace we can find room for all of us.  Hopefully we can all get a chance to stop by the OSSTF booth.  Brian, Brad and Gary are confirmed to being booth hosts.  If you would like to help out please ask the person at the booth if they need a break or extra assistance.

Wayne’s CELL NUMBER: 416-358-1971
(Please bring members of your family if you wish and forward this to any other members that you think might want to join us)

OSSTF BOOTH
There is an OSSTF Booth this year near Gloucester and Church.  The OSSTF booth will be in area B62, which is not specifically identified on the map.  Instead, Registration Booth B is identified on the map at the southeast corner of Gloucester and Church.  We are assuming that the OSSTF booth will be on the east side of Church Street somewhere near Gloucester.

From the Pride Parade CommitteeIn response to feedback they received last year, the call times have been adjusted to the best of our ability to try to reduce the waiting time that some groups experience who are later on in the parade line up. Having your group ready to march when you get to the front of the line will help our dispatchers execute an efficient parade and reduce waiting times for everybody.

 HAPPY PRIDE
