Call for D16 T/OT Interim Educational Services Officer

















The Educational Services Officer acts as a link to the provincial committee and as a member of the local Educational Services Committee, participating on the local committee and with its activities.

The following is a list which includes, but is not limited to, these activities:

  • * to promote, generate and co-ordinate the growth of activities of teachers and educational workers, through workshops, speakers and current educational services initiatives;

  • * to consult with and make submissions to the Regional Professional Growth Co- Ordinator of the Provincial Educational Services Committee;

  • * to promote, encourage and support student related research and effective models of professional development and training at the local level;

  • * to attend the Provincial Educational Services Officers' Conference;

  • * to identify, promote and access funding for professional growth

    and training activities for OSSTF members;

  • * to identify the professional, curricular and educational issues and concerns of OSSTF members and to make recommendations to the local Executive and Council for policy, action or research;

  • * to report to the local bargaining unit on the activities of the Educational Services Committee;

  • * to circulate pertinent information and materials to members which have been forwarded from the provincial Educational Services Committee; and

  • * to provide advice and prepare discussion and position papers as requested on educational issues being considered by the local Executive and Council.

  • * to be at Executive meeting (2 a month), Council (1 a month) and to be responsible for having your own Education Services committee meetings in the year (on average 4-5 a year)

  • Renumeration
  • * Volunteer position/honorarium paid

  • * Mileage reimbursement 

  1. Process to apply with important dates:
  2. 1. Notice of interest should be received by the District 16 Office by Noon on Friday 20, November, 2020.
  3. Note: After the deadline date, all successful candidates will receive three questions.  These three questions will be answered in the form of a 2-3 minute speech.

  5. 2. You will present your 2-3 minute speech at the next Council Meeting on Wednesday, November 25, 2020.

  7. 3. The vote will take place at the Council Meeting on Wednesday, November 25, 2020.
